Youtube can be hurtful sometime.... - View comments
I've been reading the comments on youtube for my building a gaming PC. Most of the people seem to find the "bald guy" (me) doesn't know much and the assistant seems to know a great deal more. The presentation and format was done in a way one person would lead and the other would follow. Thanks Hak5Darren for that tip
Filming the episode was restricted on time, We'd rushed and left some the important things out just so we can finish before way before midnight and Zac had to goto work in the morning. So that can explain why the episode sucked abit
People seem to also forget name of people that were made clear at the start and end of the episode. Instead refer me "Bald guy" and "that guy on the left" who knows nothing about computer/technology.
To some Zac would demonstrates his knowledgeable on building a computer than me, From his own frank admissions he doesn't know how to fix his PC. I frankly needed someone whom would have a basic understanding enough to bounce question back/forward and my choices were limited to people, whom would response to my emails/IM and lived locally
Eventually I would plan to move the show to Brisbane. Where i'd have alot more resources and to be able invite others to contribute. Thats what i really want to do
I just need someone to give me a job first :)
I need to learn to use the Brisbane Transport System. I find that I'd be walking across town for an hour in the wrong director or after arriving destination. I would find a quicker way
If your in Brisbane.visit afkcafe and "Defrag yourself". The quickest way to get there is to catch the bus that goto Woolloongabba interchange/bus station then walk towards queensland computer group on Stanley Street, Just past QCG is Afkcafe
Well it first started @ 3am. I'd wake up have breakfast, get dressed, check my emails and drive to the bus terminal. Since i was catching the train to Brisbane you either have to drive outside of Maryborough by car or catch the tilt-train shuttle service that ferry you to Maryborough west station
When we were driving to meet the train just before leaving hervey bay. You come thru a small rural built-up area called "Dundathu" on the edge of Hervey Bay, which is where our luxery fairly new bus broke down. We stuck for atleast 40 mins until a replacement bus came to pick us up. What happened? Once the brake fluid/air levels drop in the airbreaks to low level the secondary emergency spring breaks are enabled and the bus goes into a "safe mode" preventing the bus from moving. This is a good thing. However... if the bus driver doesn't pull over into a siding/offstreet the bus will be blocking up one side of the road
Replacement bus arrived and taken other 4 passengers to the station. Where they held the TT for 30 mins until we arrived. However the bus that broke down was still at the same place 2hrs later and was be towed back to the depot
Instead of arriving an hour early we arrived @ 10:20am and I had a job interview @ 11:30am. So rushed to the nearest bathroom to change into my spiffy smart clothes. Caught a cab from roma street terminal to milton with 10 mins to spare and no preparation
Interview was okay. i should know by monday if i have the position and flee my repressing life retired lifestyle that Hervey Bay has bestowed upon the younger generation
Oh and this flew over Hervey Bay on Wednesday
Keep you posted on brisbane job front
Adam.
Might as i love to sit on my ass dreaming all day of the seaside lifestyle, Going to tafe for two days a week and writing assignment based on privacy laws relating to information technology. With poorly written material and lack of good teaching teacher staff are only leaving me on the path of destruction.and technically retired at 23.
My current employment situation looks very grim staying here in Hervey Bay. Thats why i've established a task-force called Operation Brisvegas
- Apply for Brisbane based jobs
- Make appearence in Brisbane for Job Interviews
- Obtain Employment. Request Tilt-train extraction team
- Live in Brisbane. Maybe sell PC parts until i can recover
Well abit of eventful day. The AM towers for ABC's 4QB were knocked down by 2kgs of explosive at exactly 11am this morning (Wednesday). Unfortently i wasn't wearing a channel 7 shirt or worked for the local news paper to tour/survey the site. So no youtube tour of the devistation
Well sort of.
I'm studying Certificate 4 in IT and only required 2 days a week. Cause TAFE were unable to find another teacher for the Maryborough campus and therefore have to share teaching between Maryborough/Hervey bay campus. I must say Hervey Bay is better, Apart from the one student which thinks he has unlimited ADSL and claiming has never been shaped
Anyway, I only got the one more assignment on Report and Project Management to complete, Before considering converting the Windows 2003 R2 servers into SUSE enterprise. Cause we haven't been able to "hack" the activation on them
Tomorrow my new rode video mic should arrive and still haven't finished building/painting the green screen yet :(.
So, i could be filming the first episode inside my small messy room
These two weeks are the most i've ever spent. This shopping docket gives you sort of an idea
What for you ask? Well.....
I've you maybe aware of i386.tv or "That crazy technology-tv thing thetron likes talking about alot". Where i'm sit/stand infront of a video camera and entertain the masses with my amazing geeky talents, Talking at one time for atleast 15-30 mins.
In the interest of increasing the professionalism of the show/series so looks decent on camera. I what i've worked up
- Get a good 3CCD video camera. Check - Panasonic NVG-S300
- Buy some lighting equipment Check - Got the $250 bill for that one
- Building a green screen instead of a set - Building!
- One day build a set - The content is more important. Instead of the pretty set
Last time I came to Brisbane, I caught the plane down which is cuts the travel time into an enjoyable 30 min plane ride, Which is great if you can afford $110 one-way fare. But we digress into my expensive spending habits
I didn't get a window seat on the train down thou to admire the view. Until i swapped seats with the nice elderly woman sitting next to me that was traveling to Nambour visiting her sister 80-90 year old sister for her Birthday.
One dislike was the rude a rather loud/rude young "bogan" girl from Bundaberg. Whom would tell people swear and get rude at people. When they accidently touched/bumped her she would be offended and demand an apology.
In Brisbane, I was staying at the Wickham on Terrance for around $107 per/night and stayed over the entire weekend. Apart from arriving in brisbane with no money to pay for the deposit on my room and having to ask my brother to borrow some cash. After i repeatively before i left said "I'll be fine"
After checking-in and having setting up camp in my hotel room. I went exploring around Brisbane and to book some tickets. To the Queensland roar Vs New Zealand Knights soccor game. On the return trip pickup some milk from a 7/11 for my skippy cornflakes
I must say Suncorp is one kick-ass stadium. I was sitting right next to the Queensland Roar supporters they just went off. Queensland Roar absolutely smashed those sheep shagging, The New Zealand Knights with the final score at the end of the game was 5-0, With the two goals scored in the last twenty mins of the game.
The half-time event was people had a chance to win $20,000 dollors, They just had to score 4-8 goals to collect the prize money within 60 seconds
The lucky person whom was selected happen to be a Telstra Employee. To enter all you needed to do was send a Text SMS to entry the competition and concidently the Telstra employee somehow won the chance to win $20,000.
Gezz, I wonder how he did it to won the chance to win $20,000?
But anyway I had a goodtime and caught the train @ Milton station. Back to Roma Street and ended up getting caught in the Roma Street parklands, They close the Wickham Terrance side @ 8pm. But the Roma Street side remains open and i had to scale over the tall fence without breaking my leg/arm.
Mine you the hotel internet access was really expensive. $2 for 15 mins :0
They were like pokie machines that gobbling your money up
But anyway
